Welcome to our parish Latest News

Third Sunday in Ordinary Time | Bulletin of January 25, 2026 Message from Msgr. Schwanger

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

The last week of January each year is Catholic Schools Week for the Church in America, and we have much to celebrate. Catholic Schools Week reminds us how blessed we are to be able to provide an excellent Catholic formation and education here at Our Lady of Lourdes.

As part of our celebration, the school is hosting a Family Picnic for all parish families this Sunday at 11:30 am in the festival grounds. This is a great opportunity to get a look at the school and to experience the wonderful spirit of our school community. If you are unable to attend and would like to see the school and get more information about its programs, just contact the school office and they will arrange a tour for you. We also have information available on the webpage of the school.

Registration for the coming school year has already been closed due to the large number of applications we have received. This gives me the opportunity to explain our registration process for those who are looking toward future years.

Those who are currently enrolled in the school and who are active and in good status are given the first opportunity to register for the next school year. Next, we look to make a place in the school available to any active parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes who is seeking admission. We look at attendance and donation records from the parish to determine active status. If these are any spaces still available, unusual at this time, we then look to admit those who would like to become active members of our parish family.

A question that always arises is that of cost. Tuition at the school is set to cover the daily operating costs of the school. We do, however, have tuition assistance available for those who have been in the school for at least one year and are in financial need. Please, do not assume that you cannot afford to send your children to Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School. The faith-based education and formation they receive here is too important to miss and we are committed to making it available for all of our practicing Catholic families.
