Welcome to our parish Latest News

God is good!
Those of us who have been here since the
beginning of the parish can remember Sunday Masses in
what is now Our Lady of Lourdes Hall. Archbishop Favalora
tells the story of coming for Mass the year he was installed
as Archbishop of Miami and being overwhelmed already by
the number of people overflowing the hall into the outdoor
walkways. It was then he told Fr. Massey to go ahead with
plans for the new church.
Now the new church has been built, and the school has been expanded. The school is at capacity, anyone interested in attending the school (even next year) should go ahead and join the waiting lists. The church is full for Sunday Masses and busy all day, every day. There are times when the church is too small. Just this month at the Healing Mass, we overflowed the church and chapel. The hall was full, and the outdoor altar used the rest of our available chairs. God is indeed good.
All this growth and activity means that the work of the parish and school staff has continued to grow and in both number and complexity. I congratulate our staff on what they are able to do to serve the needs of such an active and blessed community. That said, we are on the frontier of a new level of attention and service so that the work of evangelization may continue to grow. That step forward probably does not mean more buildings. We are practically built out. So, I think it must mean that we improve and expand the use of digital technology in the work of administration and evangelization as we have already begun in the work of media.
We are, then, looking to add a full time IT specialist to our parish staff. We will be expanding our use of Smartsheet in order to integrate office systems. We are looking for someone to learn all that Smartsheet can do for us and help each area of our staff and even our ministries to take full advantage of its potential. If you, or someone you know, would be interested in that position, please let me know at msgr@ololourdes.org. We are in very exciting times..
