Fifth Sunday of Lent | Bulletin of March 22, 2026 Message from Msgr. Schwanger

My Dear Family of Our Lady of Lourdes,

We have a change in Mass times for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday. Please take note! The 11:45 Mass is moved to 12 noon and the 1:30 Mass is moved to 1:45.

The most beautiful week of year, Holy Week begins next Sunday with Palm Sunday. I invite everyone to take the time this week to arrange the schedule so that you can experience the full beauty and power of Holy Week, joining us as the week unfolds.

The change in Mass times for Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday is so that we can all experience the full beauty and power of Holy Week. It allows more time between Masses for the parking lot to empty so those coming for the next Mass can get in. Please also remember to use 112th Street to enter the parking lot and 142nd Avenue to exit. We will the police to help on the streets and our parking crew to assist in the parking lot. As you can imagine, that is a very difficult ministry, and I ask everyone to be polite and to listen to their instructions. Be the blessing for them that they are for us.

The Holy Week schedule is in the bulletin and on the webpage. I’d like to highlight a few things. On Holy Monday, the Bread and Soup Dinner begins at 7:00 and the “Passion of the Christ” begins at 8:00. That allows for those coming from the 7:00 Mass to fully participate. The Chrism Mass on Tuesday is at the Cathedral. For Tenebrae on Wednesday, we come back to the parish. On Holy Thursday, the only Mass of the day is the 8:00 pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper. The Veneration of the Cross on Good Friday is in Spanish at 3:00 pm and in English at 8:00 pm. We rotate those liturgies each year. The only Mass of the day on Holy Saturday is the Easter Vigil at 8:00. For Easter Sunday the 6:30 am Sunrise Mass takes the place of the 7:15 am Mass. And again, the 11:45 Mass is moved to 12 noon and the 1:30 Mass is moved to 1:45.

Please join us. This is truly a powerful and important week, and I commend our parish family for the beauty and dignity that we bring to it each year.
Happy Holy Week!

Msgr. Schwanger
Pastor
