Why Catholic

Our Journey Through the Catechism

You can register for Why Catholic? during normal office hours at the Christian Formation office or at the door when you come to the session.

Our next Why Catholic? sessions will be on “Prayer in the Old Testament” on

Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in English (and Creole) or on
December 10, 2014 in Spanish

as we explore this essential aspect of our Heritage of Faith.

Prayer in the Old Testament - The patriarchs and other people of faith in the Old Testament were steeped in prayer as they responded to God’s call in faith. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Hannah, Esther, Tobiah and so many oth-ers teach us to pray in so many ways and under all sorts of circumstances. Their prayers and the Psalms are still very much part of our daily prayers, especially in the Liturgy of the Hours and at the Mass.
